Hello CIS Newsletter Subscriber,
BIG NEWS at CIS
After a lot of waiting, our first container handler arrived on site yesterday. It took four truckloads to move the massive piece of equipment into place. The machine was disassembled at the Big Red facility in Savannah and loaded onto large flatbed trucks for delivery to Cordele. The leviathan definitely increased the number of onlookers that have been riding by the facility during construction. Several times there were cars literally stopped in the road just to get a glimpse of the one and only reach stacker in Cordele, GA!

Since the time of the last newsletter, all of the fencing has been erected around the facility and track work has begun on the new rail spur. Track construction is slated for completion within the next week.
We are excited to announce that our first two yard/equipment operator positions have been filled and will begin on Monday June 20th. We hope that both of these individuals have long and prosperous careers with CIS. These two individuals were selected from a pool of several hundred applicants. Each brings their own unique skill set that we feel will be valuable additions to the CIS intermodal operation. CIS went to extreme lengths to hire people with experience and stellar reputations so that we can assure our customers that their containers will be handled in a safe and efficient manner.
There will be more to come in the near future. We will publish another short newsletter in the coming weeks after construction is completed and initial train schedules have been finalized.
Thank You,
CIS
